LESSON 19 OF 348 · CALCULATIONS WITH NUMBERS

Mathematical Expressions in Rust in Rust

Lesson

  • We can perform multiple calculations using operators in the same line of code:

    println!("{}", 3 - 4 + 6); // Prints 5
    println!("{}", 5 + 2 - 3); // Prints 4
    println!("{}", 2 * 5 + 1); // Prints 11
    println!("{}", 4 / 2 * 5); // Prints 10

  • We can also use variables:

    let num1: i32 = 5;
    let num2: i32 = -1;

    println!("{}", 2 * num1 * num2); // Prints -10
    println!("{}", num1 + num2 - 3); // Prints 1
    println!("{}", 20 / num1 + num2); // Prints 3
    println!("{}", num1 / 5 * num2); // Prints -1
